How to Renew Your License

  • The license expires 12 months after the month of issuance.

  • The AID office is required by law to mail renewal packets to the primary business/mailing address of record, 30 days prior to their license expiration date. The AID office will mail the renewal via U.S. mail.

  • License renewals cannot be obtained on line. 

Grace Period

A courtesy grace period of 30 days is granted after the expiration date.

Renewal Form Not Received

If you did not receive a renewal form, contact the AID office immediately.

Expired License

If your license is expired but is within the 30 day grace period, you may renew your license and pay a renewal fee and a late fee.

Expired License AND Grace Period

If your license is expired and the 30 day grace period has also expired, you must start over with an original license. You may not renew. You must start over with an original application.

Manufacturer/Distributor Renewal Application Checklist 

 

 

1. Complete the renewal application form received. Do not skip any steps.
2. Any fields that are not complete may result in your application being rejected.
3. Fill out and return the Manufacturer Database Update Record form with your application. 

  • If you did not receive an application in your packet, contact the Auto Industry Division immediately.

4. Affidavit - Restrictions on Benefits (DR 4679)  - All Auto Industry applications and forms require that a licensee use their FULL LEGAL name as shown on the applicants Driver’s License or Identification Card.

  • Lawful presence in the US. Is not required for Corporations, LLC or LLP.
  • If you did not receive an application in your packet, contact the Auto Industry Division immediately.

5. Review the Checklist provided at the bottom of the renewal form. Ensure you have completed all steps in the checklist.

6. Pay Fee - Check should be made payable to the Department of Revenue. All fees are subject to change July 1st of every year.

7. Expired License and Expired Grace Period – Don’t let your license expired! If both the expiration and grace period have lapsed the licensee will need to start over as a brand new applicant with a NEW ORIGINAL APPLICATION – All original application requirements will apply.

1. Renewal Application

Complete all fields on the renewal application and provide updates as needed. Do not skip any steps.

2.Manufacturer Database Update Record
Complete the Manufacturer Database Update Record form and return with your application packet. 
8. Additional Requirements
  • All documents submitted must be on 8.5” x 11” size paper. Do not submit legal size copies.
  • Do not submit double sided copies.
  • Do not staple documents, instead write your Company name or license number on each page submitted. 
  • Number all pages.

The Auto Industry Division must receive the renewal application prior to the license expiration date. 

Applications received after the expiration date and also within the 30 day grace period will be charged a renewal fee AND a late fee.
